Heartbreaking news for the family at Şükran Soner's funeral: Her sister Türkan Berişe has also passed away
As journalist Şükran Soner was being laid to rest, it was learned that her sister, Türkan Berişe, had also passed away.
A ceremony was held for journalist Şükran Soner at the Cumhuriyet newspaper headquarters in Istanbul. Following the ceremony, which was attended by her colleagues, relatives, and friends, Soner's body was taken to Şişli Mosque.
A funeral prayer was held for Şükran Soner at Şişli Mosque following the noon prayer. Soner was later laid to rest at Eyüpsultan Cemetery.
While preparations for the funeral prayer were underway, more news arrived that deeply saddened the family. It was learned that Soner's sister and the mother of Cumhuriyet newspaper's Managing Editor Betül Berişe, Türkan Berişe, had passed away.
It was reported that Türkan Berişe, who had been receiving treatment for health issues for some time, passed away after receiving the news of Şükran Soner's death.
