High-level departure at Halk TV
It has been learned that Orhan Can, who began his role as Editor-in-Chief at halktv.com.tr last September, has parted ways with the institution.
News of a departure has come from Halk TV. halktv.com.tr Editor-in-Chief Orhan Can has left the institution. Can had assumed the position last September.
According to reports by Medyaradar, it was learned that Can made this decision due to a professional disagreement with the senior management.

WHO IS ORHAN CAN?
Orhan Can was born in 1962 in Kilis, where his mother, a teacher, and his father, a sergeant major, were stationed.
After graduating from Haydarpaşa High School for Boys, Can graduated from the Radio and Television department of Marmara University's School of Press and Broadcasting (Faculty of Communication).
Orhan Can began his journalism career in 1985 as a sports reporter for Tan and Günaydın newspapers, later moving to Güneş newspaper.
Can subsequently worked as a night reporter for Gazete and Hürriyet newspapers in 1989, as News Director for Kanal D's national news in 1995, and as News Director for Show TV in 1996, where he worked alongside Reha Muhtar.
Between 2001 and 2004, he worked with Ufuk Güldemir as Editor-in-Chief of Habertürk TV, General Manager of the haberturk.com News Agency, General Manager of the Gazete Habertürk News Agency, and President of the Habertürk Broadcasting Group.
Orhan Can, who served as News Coordinator for SkyTürk in 2005, founded Yeniçağ TV in 2006 and managed it as Editor-in-Chief.
Returning to Hürriyet newspaper in 2008, Orhan Can served as the founder and director of Hürriyet WEB TV (Hürriyet TV) for 4.5 years.
Also working as a sports columnist for Hürriyet newspaper, Orhan Can worked for cumhuriyet.com.tr starting in April 2004 and joined the Cumhuriyet newspaper sports columnist staff in July of that year.
Most recently, the experienced journalist Orhan Can, who was appointed to head the Yeniçağ and Günboyu websites and the Yeniçağ YouTube channel in 2020, was appointed as Editor-in-Chief at halktv.com.tr in September 2024. His next destination is not yet known.
AWARDS
In 2016, Orhan Can's article titled "It Will Be Too Late Later," written against terrorism at the stadium during a Beşiktaş-Bursa match while he was at Cumhuriyet newspaper, was selected as Column of the Year by the Turkish Journalists Association (TGC), making him Columnist of the Year.
In 2014, his article titled "Long Live Goodness, Down with Evil," written for Cumhuriyet newspaper, was selected as Sports Column of the Year by the Turkish Journalists Association (TGC).
In competitions held by the TSYD (Turkish Sports Writers Association), he received the 1st place award in the Free Writing category for his article "Conscience and Revolution" published in Cumhuriyet newspaper, and the 2nd place award in the Match Report and Commentary category for his article "Karl Marx – Müslüm Baba."
In 2017, he received the Commendable Match Report award for his article titled "Morality and Virtue 2," also published in Cumhuriyet newspaper.
