İsmail Saymaz explains why he left Halk TV! A noteworthy detail about the IYI Party...

Journalist İsmail Saymaz was a guest on Fatih Altaylı's YouTube channel.

Making statements regarding the current agenda, Saymaz also responded to Fatih Altaylı's question, 'Why did you leave Halk TV?'.

"I am not someone who talks much about the places I have left. I stay away from that," said Saymaz, adding, "I began to think that Halk TV's political orientation during that process had started to overshadow the content produced."

"BROADCASTING BASED ON ELECTION RESULTS..."

Stating that he made this decision during the earthquakes that occurred on February 6, Saymaz continued:

"Starting from the days of the earthquake and later including the process involving the Six-Party Table crisis, an effort emerged in Halk TV's broadcasts that prioritized the election and conducted broadcasting based on election results. There is this type of broadcasting. Content can have political consequences. But I do not overshadow myself just because my political views are that way.

As we headed toward the election, after seeing the political stance adopted at Halk TV and especially the language used toward the IYI Party within the Six-Party Table, I had to make a choice. I left Halk TV to continue my journalism in a medium where it would not fall into the shadow of politics."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

İsmail Saymaz announced in a statement on his social media account on April 10, 2023, that he had parted ways with Halk TV, where he had worked for approximately 20 months.

In his statement, Saymaz said, "As of today, my path with Halk TV has separated. I would like to thank the employees of Halk TV, with whom I have worked shoulder to shoulder for about 20 months, and our dear viewers. Please forgive me."

After leaving Halk TV, Saymaz signed with Sözcü TV.

In a statement made by Halk TV, it was reported that Saymaz had left before his contract expired. The statement noted that the institution did not find Saymaz's decision to move to another medium ethical.
