Journalist Furkan Karabay referred to court with request for arrest
Journalist Furkan Karabay, who was taken into custody, has been referred to court with a request for his arrest.
Journalist Furkan Karabay was summoned to the police station to receive a notification regarding him.
Karabay was subsequently taken into custody at the station and brought to the counter-terrorism branch at Vatan Police Headquarters.
Karabay was accused of "targeting a person involved in the fight against terrorism" for writing the name of a prosecutor mentioned in a report in one of his news articles.
According to Gerçek Gündem; Karabay, who was allowed to meet with his lawyers hours after being taken into custody, was referred to the duty magistrate judge with a request for his arrest following his statement at the prosecutor's office.
Three weeks ago, Karabay had been taken from his home by police force to provide a statement.
