KRT resistance ends in victory: Employees' rights will be paid
The 21-day resistance by Kültür Radyo Televizyon (KRT) employees has concluded with a commitment that salaries and meal allowances will be paid in July.
The resistance initiated by Kültür Radyo Televizyon (KRT) employees, who stopped working due to unpaid wages, poor working conditions, heavy workloads, and unpaid meal allowances, has ended in victory on its 21st day. Press workers at KRT TV, who had been protesting for 13 days, had not received their salaries or 3 months of meal allowances since March 28.
In a written statement issued by KRT TV, it was stated, "As a result of the negotiations held with all our employees, an agreement has been reached to pay all salaries and meal allowances within the month of July." The full statement is as follows:
"As Kültür Radyo ve Televizyon Yayıncılığı A.Ş. (KRT), we have resolved the salary payment crisis experienced in recent months on the basis of mutual understanding and consensus, as a result of the direct and constructive communication we established with all our colleagues.

"THE NECESSARY LEGAL PROCESS HAS BEEN INITIATED AGAINST THESE INDIVIDUALS"
From the very beginning of the process, we have endeavored to manage the crisis with common sense by standing by our employees. However, unfortunately, the crisis deepened further during this period due to the influence of individuals or groups, directed from inside or outside, who tried to sabotage the process instead of moving forward with a solution-oriented approach. The necessary legal process has been initiated against these individuals.
As we announced on our social media platforms on June 5, 2025, a payment plan has been created for the past salary and meal allowance receivables of both our current employees and those whose employment contracts have ended. The first payment was initiated before the date promised as a result of the negotiations, and other payment periods have begun gradually, ahead of the priorities and dates planned.
As a result of the negotiations held with all our employees, an agreement has been reached to pay all salaries and meal allowances within the month of July. We sincerely thank all our team members who approached the process constructively and with common sense.
Full support will be provided to all our employees who wish to continue their duties at our institution until the new broadcasting period. Furthermore, the right of our colleagues who wish to do so to take unpaid leave or resign has been reserved.
As KRT, we maintain our commitment to labor, sweat, and fair management today as always; we believe that we will continue to grow together with our employees."
