Major cleanup from TikTok: Millions of videos removed

TikTok has announced that it removed over 189 million videos from its platform in the second quarter of 2025 for violating community guidelines. According to the Community Guidelines Enforcement Report published by the company, the vast majority of these videos were deleted without user reports and before receiving any views.

The report stated that more than 99 percent of the content removed worldwide was detected without user reports, and more than 90 percent was taken down without being viewed at all. Furthermore, 80.6 percent of content reported by users was removed within an average of two hours.

In Turkey, 4 million 431 thousand 182 videos were taken down during the same period for violating community guidelines. While 99.4 percent of the content in Turkey was detected without user reports, 97 percent was removed within twenty-four hours.

TikTok's content moderation systems also increased their effectiveness in live broadcasts, terminating more than 36 million live streams that violated community guidelines. This represents an increase of nearly 100 percent compared to the previous period, demonstrating TikTok's commitment to ensuring digital safety.

31 PERCENT OF REMOVED CONTENT IS SENSITIVE CONTENT

Of the removed videos, 30.6 percent consisted of sensitive content, while 30.5 percent were related to commercial activities. In order to ensure the digital safety of young users, 94.4 percent of the removed content was deleted before receiving any views.

Additionally, more than 25 million accounts belonging to users under the age of 13 were removed from the platform for violating community guidelines. During the April-June period, over 8 million advertisements that violated advertising policies were also removed from the platform. Most of these violations were addressed through measures taken at the account level.
