Reports had claimed she was a 'CIA agent'... Kenize Murad, granddaughter of Sultan Murad V, speaks out: 'The Turkish press has tarnished my name'
Faruk Bildirici wrote about how reports in the British press regarding Kenize Murad, granddaughter of Sultan Murad V, were misrepresented in Turkey. Stating that he had been in contact with Murad, Bildirici said that the claims in the Turkish media do not reflect the truth.
Media Ombudsman Faruk Bildirici has penned an important article regarding Kenize Murad, the granddaughter of Sultan Murad V and a renowned author, following the rapid spread of headlines in the Turkish media claiming she was a "CIA agent" based on reports published in the British press.
Faruk Bildirici noted that Kenize Murad reached out to him to express her grievances regarding these reports in the Turkish media, requesting his assistance in correcting the record and revealing the truth, stating the following:
“As you can see, there is a press campaign against me; it is being said that 'according to the Sunday Times, I am a CIA agent.' In fact, the Sunday Times says the exact opposite: the CIA tried to recruit me, but I refused. It never even crossed my mind to work for the CIA throughout my life! The Turkish press has tarnished my name, and I would be very grateful if you could do something to bring the truth to light.”
