RTÜK had launched an investigation: Halk TV has canceled Ayşenur Arslan’s Medya Mahallesi program!

Halk TV Chairman of the Board Cafer Mahiroğlu announced that they have decided to end the Medya Mahallesi program hosted by journalist Ayşenur Arslan, who was the subject of an investigation by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) due to her remarks regarding the bomb attack in Ankara.

"HAS EXCEEDED THE LIMITS"

Describing Arslan's statements as "unfortunate remarks," Mahiroğlu stated, "Even though terrorism was condemned in the same program, it exceeds the limits of the stance and perspective of Halk TV that we mentioned at the very beginning. For this reason, we announce to the public with regret that we have decided to terminate the program."

He used the following expressions in the statement he made on his social media account:

"As Halk TV, we attach great importance to polyphony for the establishment of democracy in our country. We have paid many prices to date, and despite all kinds of penalties and pressure, we have not taken a step back from reflecting different voices and opposition stances on our screen, and we will not. Halk TV is an indispensable lifeline for the development of democracy in our country. Our only red line in this regard is the indivisible integrity of the Republic of Turkey, founded by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms. Halk TV stands unconditionally by the fight against terrorism carried out by our security forces within this scope. The unfortunate remarks made on live broadcast in the Medya Mahallesi program aired yesterday, even though terrorism was condemned in the same program, exceed the limits of the stance and perspective of Halk TV that we mentioned at the very beginning. For this reason, we announce to the public with regret that we have decided to terminate the program."
