Discussions in the media regarding Nefes Newspaper, which began its publication life on December 19, continue.

Sözcü columnist Emin Çölaşan, in his December 26 column titled "Who is behind the new newspaper?", pointed to Nefes Newspaper without naming it, suggesting that the capital group behind the newspaper is Rönesans Holding, which is close to the government.

Drawing attention to the advertisement for Rönesans Real Estate on the newspaper's website, Çölaşan stated, “My dear readers, I am now asking a small and simple question. I request that they answer it honestly: ‘Is Rönesans Holding, one of the right-hand men of the Tayyip family in the business world, along with the businessman named Erman Ilıcak, behind this newly launched newspaper that I wish success, or not?’ That is all” he wrote.

Ümit Zileli and Deniz Zeyrek, who left Sözcü to join Nefes Newspaper, reacted sharply to Çölaşan's claims.

In his column today titled ‘On Nefes’, Çölaşan mentioned names for the first time and stated that he had not received an answer to the question he asked in his previous article.

Repeating the question, “Is Rönesans Holding behind Nefes Newspaper, or not?”, Çölaşan wrote, "We asked all the friends who came to say goodbye and called when it became clear they were leaving Sözcü: 'Good luck with your newspaper, but who is behind this as the 'big boss'?..' That was when we first felt confused. The editorial staff of Nefes had more or less been determined, but the capital group behind the business was being kept especially secret. The number of those saying there is something fishy going on was increasing!"

Stating that Ümit Zileli and Deniz Zeyrek did not answer the ‘Rönesans Holding’ question, Çölaşan asked, “Yet this question formed the basis of our topic and what I wrote. Let me ask it one more time while I have the chance: Is it there or not!”
