The feud heats up: A jab at Nefes Gazetesi from Emin Çölaşan!

Nefes Gazetesi, founded by Metin Yılmaz who left Sözcü where he served as editor-in-chief for 17 years, began its publication life on December 19.

Sözcü columnist Emin Çölaşan raised a striking claim in his article titled "Who is behind the new newspaper?".

Without naming it directly and referring to it as the 'new newspaper', Çölaşan drew attention to an advertisement for Rönesans Gayrimenkul that has been on the Nefes Gazetesi website for a week.

Çölaşan stated, “When you use logic, the following result emerges: Behind this newspaper is Rönesans, the beloved and trusted friend of the Tayyip-clan, who even built their palace! Rönesans is providing the main capital for this major venture. But lo and behold, the newly launched newspaper is in favor of the Kemalist and secular Republic! Moreover, it is against the AKP government! A major contradiction”.

Çölaşan alleged that Erman Ilıcak, the owner of Rönesans Holding, might be providing financing to the rival Nefes to "teach a lesson" to Sözcü newspaper.

Çölaşan wrote, “My dear readers, I am now asking a small and simple question. I request that they answer it honestly: ‘Is Rönesans Holding, one of the right-hand men of the Tayyip-clan in the business world, along with businessman Erman Ilıcak, behind this newly launched newspaper that I wish success to, or not?’ That is all”.
