The Istanbul 37th High Criminal Court has issued an acquittal in the trial of Sözcü newspaper writers and executives. Regarding the defendants who were tried on charges of "knowingly and willingly aiding the FETÖ/PDY without being part of its hierarchical structure," the court stated that no elements of a crime were found.
9 PEOPLE WERE ON TRIAL
Within the scope of the case, 9 people were on trial, including the newspaper's owner Burak Akbay, writers Emin Çölaşan and Necati Doğru, and editor-in-chief Metin Yılmaz. The court ruled that the defendants were innocent and decided to acquit all of them.
