As another year ends... Data on violence against women and children
The Children and Women First Association announced the 2023 data on violence against women and children in a post shared on the last day of 2023.
As we head toward the new year, 2023 will once again be remembered for news of violence against women and children. The Children and Women First Association announced that 367 women were murdered in 2023.
Amid ongoing debates over the withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention, the figures for violence against women and children continue to rise. The Children and Women First Association also shared the 2023 violence data in a post on its social media account.
Here is that post:

“This year, men murdered 367 women, as far as has been reflected in the media. Although it is not possible to access current data, 31,890 sexual crimes were committed against children last year. As 2023 ends, we took a look at the cities where we took on cases as volunteers and provided psychological support. We went to a total of 49 cities this year. As can be understood from the data above, the vast majority of the cases we took on are femicides and child sexual abuse. 'You, me, we, we are each other's remedy!' Every donation you make means supporting the struggle of more children and women to live in well-being. May our new year bring love, solidarity, and hope.”
