Businessman Yalçın Aras's 'Google' grievance: 'It says I am a musician'

Businessman Yalçın Aras announced in an article he penned that Google, the platform used for internet information searches, has been misrepresenting him to the public.

Stating, "Yet, it turns out that 'Google', which knows everything, does not know me," Aras included the following remarks in his piece:

"I don't know if it just seems that way to me or if it applies to everyone.

It has always been like that in my life; I buy an electrical appliance, it turns out to be faulty; I buy an electronic one, it has problems again; I buy a mechanical item, it still has an issue with me.

I am not exaggerating, everyone passes the class but I am the one left behind; I buy a car, the rear window doesn't open, the wipers don't work; a line appears on the television screen; I buy a watch, it stops on my wrist.

On the day I went to Erzincan for my 4-month short-term military service, they asked, 'Does anyone know how to use a typewriter?' I stepped forward. That day, until evening, I helped with the task of registering everyone and sending them to their units. Thinking I was a civilian clerk, they didn't register me for a unit; everyone left, and I was left alone with the typewriter. When the officer on duty asked, 'What is this man waiting for here?', they realized they had forgotten me. I experienced the mishap, but the ending was good.

I don't know, I buy a plot of land or a house; the apartment is L35, then it is changed to B25, but in the end, it definitely gets fixed and I never experience a mishap again.

These glitches exist in my business life as well. I buy a machine, an unimaginable malfunction occurs, and once it is fixed, it stays fixed and nothing ever happens again.

That is why when I buy something new, I always expect the inevitable mishap and, with patience and perseverance, I address the issue and make the necessary interventions. I currently have a wristwatch; it stopped while I was wearing it, but because these types of events have always happened to me, I record the documents and the course of the procedures and make the necessary interventions.

This watch, which I bought a year and a half ago, is going to the service for the third time, and I am patiently and stubbornly following up on the matter, waiting for it to be fixed.

During my tenure as the president of the Organized Industrial Zone, while I was signing off on the zoning changes for 300 factories, I forgot my own factory's and had great difficulty in obtaining the license.

The former Regional Manager, Mr. Adnan Gerez, knows this situation very well and was very saddened by it. This is my fate, but I always say, if there is no malfunction in the items I buy, I become suspicious and wonder, 'Is this item really mine?'

Let me mention the ongoing mishaps; for instance, a concept called 'Uncle Google' has emerged in the literature.

I struggle and struggle, and now they have added the pictures of an academic along with my pictures. As I said, this is my fate, or is it an ongoing event that has a place in astrology? Honestly, I do not know.
