Chinese Cultural Center celebrates its 25th anniversary with events

The event, organized as part of the Chinese Cultural Center's 25th anniversary, was attended by Turkish-Chinese Cultural Association President İrfan Karslı, Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul Cultural Attaché Meng Fen Wei and Dong Ju Nan, Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency Cultural Projects Communications Manager Gökçe Erbatur, Okan University Confucius Institute Director Hu Wei, as well as various officials and students.

Speaking at the event, Chinese Cultural Center Founder İrfan Karslı said, “Twenty-five years ago, we initiated efforts between two countries that did not know each other very well, with the goal of having these two cultures get to know, love, and engage in more relations with each other.”

Stating that as the Chinese Cultural Center family, they have provided Chinese language and culture education to thousands of students in dozens of schools, Karslı added, “Now, when we look back, we see how important and good relationships we have established. But we still have a long way to go. Our long and challenging journey continues. In 25 years, we have accumulated countless successes, precious memories, and valuable people. I would like to express my endless gratitude to all the people who are walking this journey with us.”

At the event, where students from the Şehit Mehmet Güder Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, which hosts Turkey's first Chinese preparatory class, performed a sketch, students from the Boğaziçi Confucius Institute also sang songs.

Students from the Private Bitlis Eren Science and Technology College, Aydın University students, and the Küplüce Fine Arts Academy took the stage with various performances during the program.

Şehit Mehmet Güder A.I.H.L Principal Beklan Emre Özdemir presented plaques to students who won scholarship opportunities for education in China and said, “I would like to thank the Chinese Cultural Center for their support in opening a Chinese language class at our school.”

Additionally, the Tai Chi performance exhibited by Esat Ataç and his team attracted great interest.

In the foyer area of the event, various presentations belonging to Chinese culture, such as the Chinese Tea Ceremony and Chinese Calligraphy, were held.
