In the CHP, the names that will change in the elections to be held in March have begun to become clear.
The CHP's agenda is the local elections... According to information obtained, different names will be presented to voters in key districts of Istanbul in the elections.
Local election preparations have gained momentum in the Republican People's Party (CHP).
While efforts regarding an alliance with the IYI Party are still ongoing on one hand, candidate selection work continues on the other.
It is being discussed that the General Headquarters is being very selective in the candidate determination process and is turning toward names known for their public credibility.
According to information obtained by 12punto from sources close to the party headquarters, it has become clear that some metropolitan and district mayors will not be candidates again.
For the local elections to be held in March, the CHP General Headquarters is trying to keep its finger on the pulse of both the party base and the public.
As a result of the evaluations made and the feedback received from citizens in the regions, mayors in some districts in Istanbul will change.
For now, the districts where it is certain that the mayor will change have been identified as Maltepe, Şişli, and Bakırköy.
Although it has not been officially announced that the current mayors in these districts will not be candidates again, it has become certain.
Şişli, Bakırköy, and Maltepe are known as CHP stronghold districts.
