Former CHP MP Özgündüz writes: Where did this Caliphate talk come from, brother?...

Former CHP MP and former public prosecutor Ali Özgündüz evaluated the Caliphate debates in a post on his social media account. 

Emphasizing that the issue of the Caliphate was closed 100 years ago, Özgündüz also reacted to the arrest of the young man who argued with an individual returning from the march carrying a Kelime-i Tevhid flag. Özgündüz wrote the following:

"The Caliphate institution, which had turned into a sultanate passed from father to son since the Umayyads and had become degenerate, was abolished 100 years ago and the matter is closed!. It will not be revived again!. Besides, what problem would be solved with a Caliphate anyway?! If the cause is the Palestinian cause, first let relations with Israel be severed, let trade be cut off, and let these 'mujahideen' who are obsessed with the Caliphate here go and fight against the occupation in Gaza, and we will applaud them!.. Where did this Caliphate talk come from, brother?..

Those friends who are fantasizing about a Caliphate here should know that; during World War I, while the Caliphate was held by the Ottoman dynasty, our Muslim 'Arab brothers' fought against our army together with the British (that is, with non-Muslims). And Palestine, as well as the 'holy lands', were lost in that war thanks to those 'brothers' who betrayed us!. Those who are obsessed with the Caliphate: Is your mind not working, or do you want some other chaos?! What is your problem?!..
