Miroğlu's 'stupidity' remark sparks controversy: Harsh reaction from Bahadır Selim Dilek
Former AKP deputy Orhan Miroğlu's characterization of İlber Ortaylı's proposal as "stupidity" has sparked debate. A harsh reaction came from journalist Bahadır Selim Dilek.
Former AKP Mardin deputy Orhan Miroğlu's remarks regarding historian İlber Ortaylı's proposal to "settle Kyrgyz and Uyghurs in the Tigris-Euphrates basin" have sparked controversy.
Journalist and 12punto columnist Bahadır Selim Dilek gave a harsh response to Miroğlu, who criticized Ortaylı's proposal by saying, "It might be good for chauvinistic feelings, but it is actually a massive stupidity."
In a statement made on his social media account, Dilek used the following expressions:
"When the useful apparatuses of imperialism, the Islamists and the Kurdish nationalists, get emboldened, this mentality, a remnant of feudalism, can show the audacity to call the Turkish nation 'stupid.' Unfortunately, there is no longer a public prosecutor left who can hold this insolent person accountable!"
