Murat Yetkin's 'April 1' commentary: 'If İmamoğlu wins despite the obstacles...'

Journalist Murat Yetkin evaluated the complaints made yesterday by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding low attendance at his rallies.

Yetkin used the following expressions: "Did he say this because he succumbed to his anger, or to send a message to his voters that 'The situation is dire, don't get caught up in competition, rush to the ballot boxes'? It is open to debate..." 

"IF İMAMOĞLU WINS..."

Yetkin wrote the following in the continuation of his article: 

"In the Istanbul election, which he is focused on winning at any cost, Erdoğan is standing against İmamoğlu not only with his political allies but with all the resources of the state. The fact that Şimşek, Fidan, and Yerlikaya are fulfilling their duty to stand by Kurum, as if it were a mandatory eastern service, is an example of this. Almost all opposition parties are also racing to rub the noses of İmamoğlu and the CHP. In addition to these, there are factions within the CHP that prioritize their own interests and strive to undermine him. If İmamoğlu wins despite all these obstacles, on the morning of April 1, Turkey will wake up to a completely different political environment and new political balances."
