Prof. Dr. Duran Bülbül on migrants: The political power is committing a crime
Criticizing the government's migration policies and the inadequacy of the opposition, Prof. Dr. Duran Bülbül stated, "These migrations lie at the root of today's economic crisis. Of course, there is a crisis in the government's economic model, but these have also triggered it."
Prof. Dr. Duran Bülbül was a guest on the Anında Manşet program broadcast on TELE1. Making statements regarding the government's 'open door' policies, Bülbül assessed that the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) is also failing to address this issue.
Bülbül stated, "The way to solve this problem lies in the political will taking a stance. The Parliament should hold them accountable for this, but the Parliament lacks such a will."
"THESE ARE ANOTHER REASON FOR IMPOVERISHMENT"
Bülbül's assessments regarding the 'migrant crisis' are as follows:
"The fundamental problem is this; whether in terms of international norms or laws in Turkey, they have never been in the status of migrants. These are occupiers, illegal individuals. It is certain that their number in Turkey is over 13 million. It is also mentioned from time to time that it is 16 million. These migrations lie at the root of today's economic crisis. Of course, there is a crisis in the government's economic model, but these have also triggered it. Neither international powers nor the political power are financing them. The Turkish people are financing the migrants in Turkey. We are financing approximately 500 dollars from our own budget every year. These are also a reason for impoverishment.
This is a serious choice by the political power. It is said that the European Union wanted it, but the government has consciously disrupted Turkey's socio-economic balance. We only learn that these migrants are illegal when they get involved in an incident. Other than that, they definitely do not surface. Note that even the Parliament today does not know how many migrants have arrived. It appears that five and a half million people have been treated at the City Hospital in Ankara alone. Two and a half million of these consist of migrants.
"THE TBMM IS BETRAYING ATATÜRK'S LEGACY"
The way to solve this problem lies in the political will taking a stance. None of these are coincidences. Turkey will seriously evolve into internal turmoil and a serious different process. Article 174 of the Constitution states that all revolutionary laws are under the protection of the Constitution, and it is the political power that will provide this protection. In this sense, the political power is committing a crime. The Parliament should hold them accountable for this, but the Parliament lacks such a will. In this sense, the TBMM is betraying Atatürk's legacy."
