Prof. Dr. Naci Görür warns by naming 4 fault lines: 'It keeps me up at night'

Speaking on a live broadcast on Halk TV, Seismologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür named 4 fault lines and said, "It keeps me up at night."

Görür made the following statements during the program:

"AN EARTHQUAKE IS EXPECTED HERE"

"This is Bingöl Karlıova. The North Anatolian Fault comes from here and converges here. This is the massive North Anatolian Fault... It is 1,600 kilometers long and one of the most active faults in the world. Most of the major earthquakes in our country have been the result of this fault.

This is the East Anatolian Fault, which starts from Karlıova and reaches Hatay, and produced the recent February 6 earthquakes. Look, this section between Erzincan and Bingöl Karlıova is what we call the Yedisu Fault. This fault has not produced an earthquake for a long time. It is accumulating stress. The last earthquake here occurred in 1784. An earthquake happens here every 250 years. When we add 250 years to that date, we arrive at the present day. It is not just me; international seismologists are also expecting an earthquake here. This is being written and documented. The section between Erzincan and Karlıova will break. This is the area that was loaded with stress by both the 1982 and 1939 earthquakes in Erzincan and has not yet broken."
