Statement from TKH on Hafize Gaye Erkan: Corruption and money laundering have taken over the country

Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan has resigned. Erkan shared a post on her social media account stating, "I offer my gratitude and thanks to our President."

In a statement made by the Communist Movement of Turkey (TKH), it was stated, "Changing ministers, governors, bureaucrats, members of parliament, and mayors does not work. It is not working anyway. Therefore, Erdoğan must resign! Because Erdoğan does not know foreign policy, nor does he know the economy, and he cannot govern the country."

"ERDOĞAN MUST RESIGN"

The statement from TKH is as follows:

"Recep Tayyip Erdoğan does not understand the economy. And because he does not understand, he cannot govern the country.

The Central Bank Governor, who was appointed to the post with great hopes just eight months ago, has resigned or been dismissed. Five Central Bank governors have been changed in the last five years. Three Ministers of Treasury and Finance have changed in the last three years.

Even Nurettin Nebati was able to be appointed to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

During Erdoğan's twenty-two-year rule, a rentier economy has run rampant; an economy dependent on hot money and foreign debt has become dominant. Corruption and money laundering have taken over the country. Poverty and unemployment have become the fate of the people.

No one understands what Erdoğan is defending, as he declared he was against interest rates by saying 'the religious ruling (nas) is clear,' yet did not say a word about the Central Bank's high-interest policy after the election.

The economy cannot be managed by opening state-run markets thinking inflation will fall, or by trying to find money from imperialist financial institutions and oil-rich Gulf Arab countries.

Changing ministers, governors, bureaucrats, members of parliament, and mayors does not work. It is not working anyway.

Therefore, Erdoğan must resign!

Because Erdoğan does not know foreign policy, nor does he know the economy, and he cannot govern the country."
