Studying in China: A degree valid anywhere in the world
Turkish-Chinese Cultural Association President İrfan Karslı spoke online at a panel titled “Studying in China, Advanced Seminar on High-Quality Development Practices,” organized by CUCAS in China’s island province of Hainan.
Representatives from 100 universities in China attended the panel organized by CUCAS (China's University and College Admission System).
Karslı, whose Turkish-Chinese Cultural Association serves as the authorized office for CUCAS in Turkey, stated that the demand for education abroad in Turkey is steadily increasing due to the growing importance of building an international career.
Expressing that international education should provide students with a sense of global citizenship, Karslı said, “Turkish students now know that the path to working successfully in the global market economy lies in understanding the characteristics of different people and cultures. It is very difficult for individuals who cannot step outside their own geography to be successful in a globalizing world.”
Drawing attention to the rise in programs abroad that offer earning potential in recent years, İrfan Karslı noted that there are many factors in students' choices for education abroad and stated the following:
“Students want to study in countries that are not too culturally different from their own, have high levels of prosperity, low living costs, high security, and where they can obtain work and residence permits. Because students have a high desire to work while studying abroad, they prefer countries that offer them work permits.”
In China, one can find both education and dormitory opportunities for the price of a private university education in Turkey. Furthermore, the university diplomas received by students studying at many Chinese universities that have entered the lists of the world's best universities are seen as valuable diplomas everywhere in the world.
Students can receive free education in all undergraduate programs with scholarships such as the Chinese government scholarship, provincial scholarships, and Silk Road scholarships. At the same time, some students can also receive a monthly living allowance of 2500-3000 Yuan in addition to their Chinese language and other free undergraduate education.
