Message from Tantan on Syria: Diplomatic relations must be established

Former Minister of Interior Sadettin Tantan shared his assessments regarding the current agenda on his social media account. Tantan stated that Turkey must act in concert with regional countries.

Emphasizing that diplomatic relations with Syria must be established, Tantan wrote the following:

“The events unfolding around Turkey are a manifestation of imperialist projects that seek to harm regional peace. It is of great importance to act together with regional countries, and to protect and develop relations.

Turkey must establish and develop diplomatic relations with Syria as soon as possible. If the Syrian issue is resolved in our favor, it will serve as an important shield for Turkey, a regional power, against the Western bloc.

There is no place in this geography for US, French, and British warships that show their flags under various guises in the Mediterranean. The British bases in Cyprus must now be opened for discussion.

The explosion in Iran has once again revealed that a dirty game is being played. Those within our country who strive to divide society must realize that they have fallen into the trap of imperialism and must abandon these efforts.

Republican values and founding principles can never be reversed. Turkey will disrupt the imperialist game by ensuring unity and solidarity. Turkish politics is obligated to ensure this unity, and no one can escape this historical responsibility.

Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Egypt can act together to oppose Israel's lawless and border-defying actions in the region. Other states in the region that desire peace can also be included in this movement. Turkey is the only country capable of leading this movement.”
