Tension in Ankara following PKK attack! '...This is the most critical issue'

Journalist and author Murat Yetkin wrote that tension in Ankara has risen following the PKK attack in Hakurk that left 12 soldiers martyred. Yetkin stated, "One of these is the vote on Sweden's NATO membership, which is expected to be discussed in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Foreign Affairs Committee tomorrow, December 26. Another is the debate sparked by the CHP's refusal to sign the joint declaration condemning the terror attack in the TBMM. And another is the questioning of the conditions under which the soldiers who were attacked were serving, which is perhaps the most painful issue of all."

Tension in Ankara following PKK attack! '...This is the most critical issue'

Journalist and author Murat Yetkin wrote that tension in Ankara has risen following the PKK attack in Hakurk, stating, "Among these tensions is the vote on Sweden's NATO membership, which is expected to be discussed in the TBMM Foreign Affairs Committee tomorrow, December 26. Another is the debate regarding the CHP's refusal to sign the joint declaration condemning the terror attack in the TBMM. The last one is the beginning of questioning the conditions under which the soldiers who were attacked were serving, which is perhaps the most critical issue of all."

Yetkin noted that the CHP did not sign the joint condemnation declaration in the TBMM regarding the PKK's latest terror attack. Stating that this situation led to protests by some participants within the CHP and at the funeral of a martyr in Manisa, Yetkin also pointed out that the questioning of the conditions of the soldiers stationed in Iraq as part of the fight against the PKK has sparked a new question and debate.
