Ahmet Yavuz: They are responsible for this legal absurdity!

Reactions continue to pour in regarding the Court of Cassation's filing of a criminal complaint against members of the Constitutional Court.

Retired Major General Ahmet Yavuz recalled the 2010 and 2017 public referendums in a post on his social media account. Yavuz wrote the following:

"Whoever voted 'yes' in either the September 12, 2010, or April 16, 2017, public referendums is responsible for the current legal absurdity!"

2 HISTORIC REFERENDUMS

In the two public referendums Yavuz recalled, the Republic of Turkey's judiciary and system of government underwent major changes. In the 2010 referendum, the structure of the judiciary was altered, and in 2017, the Presidential Government System was introduced in place of the Parliamentary System. Before the 2010 referendum, the 'Not Enough but Yes' group emerged and campaigned for a 'Yes' vote. Following the referendum, media outlets associated with FETÖ plots, such as Taraf, Bugün, and Zaman, ran headlines such as 'The people have taken control of the administration,' 'Victory of democracy,' and 'The nation's coup.'
