Where did 5 million votes disappear to? It is one of the most curious questions following the local elections!
Researcher and KONDA Board Member Bekir Ağırdır drew attention to the loss of votes by "nationalist" parties in the March 31 local elections.
Bekir Ağırdır, in his article written for Gazete Oksijen, compared the votes received by nationalist parties in the general elections and the local elections.
"IS NATIONALISM RISING, OR IS IT THE FEELING OF NATIONALISM?"
In his article, where he stated, "It is difficult to explain the loss of 5 million votes," Ağırdır said the following:
"I must note that one of the issues that should be investigated in the coming period is the matter of nationalism. Is nationalism rising in an intellectual sense, as is frequently claimed, or is it a feeling of nationalism? I have written five articles on this subject in the last two months. The reader knows my opinion that we can speak of a lumpenization in an emotional sense rather than a strengthening of nationalism ideologically. Indeed, it is difficult to explain the loss of more than 5 million votes between two elections with a 10-month interval."
