Will Erdoğan's election plan work? 'It will make people long for the IMF...'

Journalist Murat Yetkin stated that the release of the Thai nationals upon Erdoğan's instructions does not occupy the minds of AKP voters even a tenth as much as the determination of the minimum wage, while warning that austerity policies that will make people long for the IMF could follow the elections.

Will Erdoğan's election plan work? 'It will make people long for the IMF...'

Journalist Murat Yetkin addressed the local elections and the policies deferred until after the elections in the fight against inflation in his column today.

"IT WILL MAKE PEOPLE LONG FOR THE IMF"

Yetkin stated, "As President Tayyip Erdoğan fails to deliver news of victories in foreign policy, he tightens the screws domestically. As his attempts at constitutional amendments to distract from the economy prove futile, despite all the media operations undertaken, austerity policies that will make people long for the IMF in 2024 are becoming impossible to hide," and added the following:

"LOCAL ELECTION PLAN"

"The release of the Thai nationals upon Erdoğan's instructions does not occupy the minds of even the most loyal AK Party voters in Turkey a tenth as much as what will happen to pensions or what the minimum wage will be," said Yetkin, adding, "What remains, unless Erdoğan pulls another rabbit out of his hat today or tomorrow, is once again the fate of the economy."

Finally, Yetkin said, "These are our better days. Erdoğan is making plans to win the March 31 elections. No one should be surprised if austerity policies that will make people long for the IMF follow afterwards."
