It was reported that 136 people from different political parties joined the AKP during the "Local Governments Themed Provincial Advisory Council" program organized by the AKP İstanbul Provincial Presidency.

According to the statement from the Provincial Presidency, the program was attended by AKP Deputy Chairman and Head of Local Governments Mustafa Demir, AKP İstanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir, party officials, members of parliament, mayors, municipal council members, and organization members.

BADGES PINNED ON 136 PEOPLE

During the meeting, badges were pinned on 136 people, including individuals who had previously served in various parties, primarily the CHP, IYI Party, Future Party (Gelecek Partisi), DEVA Party, New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi), Key Party (Anahtar Parti), and DEM Party.

Speaking at the program, Mustafa Demir stated that people are at the center of their local government approach, emphasizing participation, transparency, and accountability. Demir said, "Integrating with the nation happens by touching the daily lives of citizens. Our job is to be with the citizens every day of the year in neighborhoods, in front of schools, and in mosque courtyards."

AKP İstanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir touched upon his party's history in local government. He stated that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan winning the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral election in 1994 played an important role in the process that led the AKP to power in 2002.

Stating that there were 13 AKP municipalities when they took office in Istanbul, Özdemir expressed that this number increased with the participation of mayors in the party and the deputy mayoral elections held in municipal councils.

Özdemir wished success to Tuzla Mayor Eren Ali Bingöl, Çekmeköy Mayor Orhan Çerkez, and Şile Deputy Mayor Sacit Terzi; he also congratulated Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Dündar Ziya Gültekin and Adalar Deputy Mayor Kemal Türkyılmaz.

Touching upon the Adalar Municipality, Özdemir claimed that 12 out of 13 vehicles belonging to the municipality were faulty. He noted that cleaning work in the district was started rapidly with the support of AKP municipalities.

Giving a message regarding the deputy mayoral elections to be held in Ataşehir and Eyüpsultan, Özdemir wished success to their candidates and said, "We hope that AK Party services will begin in both of our districts starting tomorrow. We will hopefully follow the elections there all together."
