29 workers dismissed at DEM Party-run Cizre Municipality
In Şırnak, the number of workers dismissed at Cizre Municipality has reached 63 after 29 more were let go. The dismissed workers gathered in front of the municipality to protest the decision.
DEM Party Cizre Municipality Co-Mayors Güler Yerbasan and Abdurrahim Durmuş had previously dismissed 5 workers last month and 29 workers last week after taking office.
Yesterday, at the end of the workday, 29 more workers were dismissed, bringing the total number of layoffs to 63.
Following the end of the shift, 29 workers who are members of the Hizmet-İş Union, affiliated with the HAK-İŞ Confederation, were informed by phone that their employment had been terminated. Hizmet-İş Union Provincial Representative Nevzat Uysal stated that the dismissal of workers affiliated with their union at Cizre Municipality continues and expressed concern that this number is increasing day by day.
The dismissed workers gathered in front of the municipality to protest the decision.
