7 people hired by Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, who was replaced by a trustee, have been dismissed
Following the arrest of Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, the employment contracts of 7 people he had hired at the municipality, who also had kinship ties to him, have been terminated.
According to information obtained from governor's office sources, it was determined that 7 people employed at the municipality following the March 31 Local Administration General Elections by Ahmet Özer—who was arrested as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau into the identification of members and activities of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization—also had kinship ties to him.

It was determined that Özer's brother, A.Ö., who was hired on April 19 after the elections, had started working as a close protection officer; his cousin, M.M.Y., was serving as a business license consultant; and his nephews, M.S.Ö. and M.E.K., were working as private secretary staff.

It was understood that Özer's brother-in-law, M.G., who was hired at the municipality on April 20, had started working as a zoning and licensing affairs coordinator; his cousin, B.F.Y., was serving as private secretary staff; and his relative, S.Ç., had become a civil servant through an exceptional quota.

While the employment contracts of these 7 people working at the municipality were terminated, it was learned that the dismissals were limited only to individuals who were hired due to kinship ties.
