It was announced that for the first time in 12 years, the CHP will be represented at the level of Chairman.
In his assessment, CHP leader Özel stated, "This position I have been elected to will enable us to establish more frequent contact with our political allies to advance social democracy in the world."

Özgür Özel continued as follows:
"Social democrats' voices need to be heard more loudly in Europe and the world, especially regarding the tragedy unfolding in Palestine. I hope this position will serve this purpose, and I believe that by representing our party and our country in the best way possible, I will contribute to the struggle against authoritarianism, which is a problem for the whole world. I would also like to thank Mr. Ünal Çeviköz, who has held this position on behalf of our party since 2022, for his contributions."
