The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) has issued a written statement regarding the claims brought to the agenda that Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş will join a different political party.
In the statement made by the municipality, it was stated that the claims, which had been denied previously, were being circulated again through different political parties. The ABB called on the public not to give credence to such reports.
The statement said, “Despite the fact that the claims that Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mr. Mansur Yavaş will join different political parties have been denied many times, they continue to be insistently brought to the agenda. We once again inform the public that these claims, which are put forward through a different political party every day, do not reflect the truth.”
The ABB stated that Yavaş's political stance is clear and emphasized respect for the will of the voters. The statement also recalled the words Yavaş had previously expressed: “Loyalty to the will of the voter is the honor of politics.”
In the municipality's statement, it was noted that protecting the trust citizens have in politics and politicians is possible through showing respect for the will of the voters.
