Abdülkadir Selvi's claim on Öcalan: Will the İmralı call be postponed? 'There is an expectation, but...'

Following the restart of the İmralı Process with the call from Devlet Bahçeli, a DEM Party delegation visited İmralı to meet with Öcalan and subsequently visited the parties with groups in parliament (excluding the İYİ Party) one by one to inform them about the new process.

Government-affiliated sources and DEM Party sources have frequently stated after the visits that Öcalan would make a historic call, expressing that the expectation is for a call to be made for the PKK to lay down its arms.

MAZLUM ABDİ'S FEBRUARY 15 REMARK

Following these statements, eyes turned to İmralı, and the question of when the call for the PKK to lay down arms would come raised questions. Mazlum Abdi, the leader of the terrorist organization YPG in Syria, had claimed in a speech regarding the ongoing process that the text of the call would be released on February 15.

ANNIVERSARY OF HIS ARRIVAL IN TURKEY

The claim that Öcalan, who was captured in Kenya and brought to Turkey on February 15, 1999, would make the call to lay down arms on the anniversary of that date was not denied by those managing the process, while Abdulkadir Selvi, known for his proximity to the government, provided his commentary on the February 15 date.

"FEBRUARY 15 IS NOT CERTAIN"

In his column today, Selvi stated that the possibility of the call being ready by February 15 is quite weak, and that even the month of February is not certain. Attributing his commentary to the fact that no clear date has been set, Selvi used the following expressions:

Why February 15? As you know, Öcalan was captured in Kenya and brought to Turkey on February 15, 1999.

But the February 15 date is not certain. In fact, the possibility of a call being made on February 15 is weak. There is an expectation towards the end of February, but even February is not certain. Because no date has been set. What is important is not the date, but achieving results.
