TRUSTEE PROCESS IN ADMINISTRATION CONTINUES

Following Ahmet Türk's removal from office on November 4, 2024, as a result of a "terrorism" investigation launched against him, Mardin Governor Tuncay Akkoyun was appointed as trustee by the decision of the Ministry of Interior. It was stated that the trustee administration in the municipality would continue for another two months in accordance with legal regulations. It was emphasized that the appointment process is being maintained in accordance with the relevant legislation.

POLITICAL DEBATES AND BAHÇELİ'S MESSAGE

The statement made by MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli at his parliamentary group meeting in March also brought the political dimension of the debate to the agenda. Bahçeli had stated, "The MHP will not deviate from the path it knows to be right. Our decision is clear until Anatolia returns to peace, Öcalan to hope, the Ahmets to their positions, and Demirtaş to his home."

Ahmet Türk, who was elected as the Mardin Metropolitan Mayor for the third time in the 2024 local elections, was removed from office due to the 10-year prison sentence he received in the Kobani case. The municipal administration has been run by Tuncay Akkoyun since that date.
