Ahmet Türk, the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee following an operation, responded to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's claims of "exploitation," while delivering messages of peace and dialogue. Stating that the Kurdish people are politicized and act in line with their own demands as a people who know what they want, Türk said, "No one is in a position to exploit us."

'WE WANT TO ENSURE A DIGNIFIED LIFE'

Ahmet Türk stated that his only dream is to ensure peace in the country, adding that they are ready to establish dialogue with all political parties so that Turkey can emerge from its internal chaos. "What is important for us is to create an environment for dialogue. We are ready to meet with all political parties in Turkey for a solution," said Türk, adding that he could even meet with Bahçeli if a correct approach is demonstrated.

'LET THEM PUT DOWN THE STICK'

Responding to Bahçeli's statements by saying, "There is no dialogue with a stick in one hand," Türk noted that a solution is only possible if weapons and pressure are abandoned. Using the expression, "Let them put down the stick and extend their hand; we are ready to take that hand," Türk emphasized that their goal is for the public to reach a dignified peace and that their struggle will continue in this direction.

Ahmet Türk stated that they conduct politics by taking the public's demands into account and invited all political actors to take responsibility for a solution.
