In the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, a research motion submitted by the DEM Party regarding the death of university student Rojin Kabaiş, who lost her life in Van, was discussed. The motion requested the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry to shed light on Kabaiş's death and to prevent similar incidents.
REJECTED BY AKP AND MHP VOTES

Rojin Kabaiş, a first-year student in the Child Development Department at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University's Faculty of Education, went missing after leaving her dormitory on September 27, 2024. Following search efforts that lasted approximately three weeks, Kabaiş's lifeless body was found on October 15 on the shore of the Mollakasım neighborhood in Van. Her death had been described as suspicious.
REACTION FROM CHP'S TAŞKENT: "THEY ARE ADMITTING THEIR SYSTEMATIC ROLE"
Taking the floor during the deliberations, CHP Sakarya Deputy Ayça Taşkent reacted to the rejection of the motion. Taşkent stated, "We all know how many times the motions submitted by opposition parties to investigate the causes of violence against women have been rejected. Those who reject these motions are also admitting their systematic role in these murders."
