AKP and Yeniden Refah Party delegations to meet for the 5th time: Will an alliance be formed?

The AKP and the Yeniden Refah Party (YRP) continue to face questions regarding whether an alliance will be formed, particularly concerning Istanbul.

While the previous four meetings yielded no results, the parties will come together once more at the request of the AKP.

YRP Chairman Fatih Erbakan has postponed the statement he was scheduled to make tomorrow regarding the meeting until Monday.

HE HAD SAID "THERE IS NO NEED"

Yeniden Refah Party Deputy Chairman Suat Kılıç, in a previous statement, had said, "There is really no need to hold a new meeting," and added the following:

"Alliance negotiations have been held. The meetings between the delegations have been completed. There is really no need for further alliance negotiations or a new meeting between the delegations from this point on. The parties spoke, listened, understood, and parted ways. We do not think the alliance process should be prolonged any further. The Yeniden Refah Party Central Executive Board has made its assessment on this matter. Our Chairman will conduct other evaluations and consultations he deems necessary.”
