AKP's Erdem:

AKP Deputy İsmail Erdem stated at a press conference held in Parliament that the February 28 "postmodern coup" remains a dark page in history.

Providing examples from the history of coups in Turkey, Erdem described certain events that occurred after the AKP came to power.

Erdem emphasized that a closure case was filed against the AKP and that the FETÖ coup attempt took place on July 15, but that the AKP stood tall against these attempts and stood by the nation.

"CONSERVATIVE FAMILIES WERE FORCED TO SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO FETÖ SCHOOLS"

Drawing attention to the damage the February 28 process caused to Turkey, Erdem used the following expressions:

"The February 28 process opened very deep sociological wounds in our country. They severed the connection between the state and the nation. Headscarves were banned, and imam hatip schools were closed. Banks were emptied; the February 28 process caused $381 billion in damage to our country's economy. Alongside these, there were expulsions and arrests. 6 million of our citizens were blacklisted. When imam hatip schools were closed, conservative families who did not know the true face of FETÖ were forced to send their children to FETÖ schools so they could learn their religion. Thus, conservative families were directed to FETÖ schools. These were parts of a grand scenario.

"HISTORY WILL JUDGE THE FEBRUARY 28 PERPETRATORS AND THOSE WHO APPLAUDED THEM"

However, at the point we have reached, those who said the February 28 process would 'last 1,000 years' have been thrown into the dustbin of history, but we are here, and we are performing our duties under the roof of the TBMM as a citizen and a deputy elected by the people. History will judge the February 28 perpetrators and those who applauded them; our nation has already condemned them in their conscience."
