AKP deputy who attacked DEM deputy says he 'spoke the language he deserved'

On July 24, violence broke out in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly, resulting in scenes that did not befit a culture of democracy. Former Minister of Transport and Infrastructure and AKP Trabzon Deputy Adil Karaismailoğlu, the primary perpetrator of the violence in the TBMM, spoke about the incident for the first time and stood by his actions. Attending the Extended Provincial Advisory Meeting organized by his party in Trabzon, Karaismailoğlu broke his silence on the incident. Starting his remarks by saying, "Unfortunately, these are things that should not happen," Karaismailoğlu immediately followed up by stating, "Sometimes it is necessary to speak the language that some people deserve."

Following Karaismailoğlu's sentence, the AKP members in the hall began to applaud.

HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE TUIK

The incident that turned the TBMM podium into a boxing ring on July 24 began with DEM Party member Ali Bozan's speech criticizing TUIK. Bozan stated that workers, civil servants, and retirees received low raises due to the unrealistic inflation rates announced by TUIK and that this was theft, prompting AKP members to march toward the podium.

The argument, which began with a dispute over the term "theft," turned into a physical assault involving punches and kicks.

AKP deputies, including Adil Karaismailoğlu, attacked Bozan, who had been knocked to the ground, with kicks and punches.
