Interesting statement from AKP's Orhan Miroğlu: 'We could enter a period where military coups are seen as a solution'

AKP Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) member Orhan Miroğlu criticized his party's policies in a post on his social media account.

Drawing attention to the shift in the Kurdish voter base in particular, Miroğlu warned that national psychology is strengthening and that if this situation is not approached with the right policies, "military coups could be seen as a remedy."

'CONSULTATION MECHANISM IS NOT WORKING'

Criticizing the AKP's recent organizational structure, Miroğlu stated that the opinions of members of parliament and MKYK members are not being taken into account. Stating that "the periods when the political views and will of the organizations were taken into account are behind us," Miroğlu argued that appointments are made without regard for merit. Emphasizing the ambiguity of the appointment criteria for some provincial chairs, he said this situation has created a fragile process within the party.

'KURDISH VOTERS ARE TURNING TO DEM'

Miroğlu also evaluated the impact of the party's policies on Kurdish voters. Miroğlu said, "DEM's activities, which strengthen national psychology, continue to affect Kurdish AKP supporters as well," and expressed that this effect leads to different ways of thinking among the Kurdish voter base, regardless of whether they are conservative or secular. He added, "This atmosphere cannot be normalized with a narrowed political space."

'CHP HAS NO POLITICAL DESIRE FOR KURDS'

Also criticizing the CHP, Miroğlu claimed that the party views Kurdish voters only as a source of votes. Suggesting that the CHP has no desire to have a new political experience with Kurds, Miroğlu stated, "The CHP is only seeking the votes of Kurds to topple the AK Party."

'MILITARY COUP COULD BE SEEN AS A REMEDY'

Miroğlu warned that if the current situation continues, Turkey could be dragged back into a period where military coups are seen as a remedy. Miroğlu included the remarks, "Politicians failing to do their jobs derails democracy, and the cost this time would be much heavier," adding, "Politicians must be aware of their responsibilities so that the democracy train does not go off the rails."
