AKP moves to file lawsuit over Bayrampaşa Municipality!
In the deputy mayoral election held in Bayrampaşa, CHP candidate İbrahim Kahraman was selected by drawing lots. The AKP is considering legal action to challenge this result.
Following the arrest and removal from office of Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu, the process to determine a new deputy mayor in the district has been completed. As a majority could not be reached in the first four rounds, the deputy mayor was determined by drawing lots.
Republican People's Party (CHP) candidate İbrahim Kahraman was elected as deputy mayor as a result of the draw.

However, this result drew a reaction from the AKP. The AKP announced that it plans to file a lawsuit to have the election result annulled.
COUNCIL MEMBER DISTRIBUTION CHANGED
With the resignation of four council members from the CHP last week, the balance of power in the Bayrampaşa Municipal Council shifted. In the 37-member council, the number of CHP members fell to 18, while the total number of AKP, MHP, and independent members rose to 19.
TENSION ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The tension that occurred between CHP and AKP members following the drawing of lots found wide resonance on social media. The events were shared and discussed by many users.
As a result, these developments in Bayrampaşa have become a significant agenda item in local politics.
