AKP responds to Bahçeli's alliance remarks

Following the CHP visit made by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan on the same day and his reception of Ayşe Ateş, there was curious anticipation regarding the comments MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli would make on these developments.

While there was speculation about how the visit of Ayşe Ateş, which took place before the Sinan Ateş trial scheduled for July, would reflect on the judicial process, an 'alliance with CHP' statement came from Bahçeli.

As the political agenda discusses MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's alliance statement, an important statement regarding the 'People's Alliance' came from AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik.

ERDOĞAN MET WITH ÖZEL

For the first time in approximately 18 years, AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan visited the CHP Headquarters. During the return visit made by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan to CHP Leader Özgür Özel, many topics were discussed, ranging from the economy to the appointment of trustees, from the new constitution to the Sinan Ateş murder.

In the meeting where President Erdoğan expressed the necessity of a "new constitution," CHP Leader Özel made evaluations regarding many topics, including economic problems, the appointment of trustees, and the assassination cases of Sinan Ateş and Tahir Elçi.

President Erdoğan met with CHP Leader Özel for approximately 1.5 hours at the CHP Headquarters, which he visited after 18 years.

ERDOĞAN, AYŞE ATEŞ MEETING

AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan received Ayşe Ateş, the wife of former Ülkü Ocakları Chairman Sinan Ateş, who lost his life as a result of an armed attack in Ankara, at Beştepe.

The late Sinan Ateş and Ayşe Ateş's daughters, Bengisu and Banuçiçek Ateş, were also present at the meeting.

"HE LISTENED AT LENGTH"

Ayşe Ateş, the wife of the former Ülkü Ocakları Chairman Sinan Ateş who was killed in Ankara, said regarding her meeting with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, "He really listened to me and my daughters at length. My daughters also had a long conversation and chatted with him. I explained the situation, clarified it, and we talked about the file."

Ayşe Ateş, who came together with Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex, made a statement to the press regarding the meeting.

Stating that she went to the one-hour meeting with her two daughters, Ateş thanked President Erdoğan for sparing time for them.

Stating that Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç and Presidential Chief of Staff Hasan Doğan were also present at the meeting, Ateş said, "He really listened to me and my daughters at length. My daughters also had a long conversation and chatted with him. I explained the situation, clarified it, and we talked about the file."

"WE LEFT SATISFIED"

Expressing that the meeting went well and positively, Ateş stated, "We left him very satisfied, and my daughters were happy too. We poured our hearts out, so to speak; it was a meeting in that atmosphere."

Ateş stated that her only request was for the trial to take place as quickly as possible and for justice to be served, adding, "He also said that what is necessary will be done quickly."

BAHÇELİ'S 'LET AKP AND CHP FORM AN ALLIANCE' STATEMENT CAME

"Following the March 31 Local Administration Elections, it is observed that a new equation with many unknowns is being sought in Turkish politics, based on the search for normalization and softening among political parties, which are the indispensable institutions of democracy. Because everything is happening in the presence of our nation.

The Nationalist Movement Party will undoubtedly not feel the slightest discomfort in evaluating these additional and productive dialogues as reasonable and logical, provided that they are well-intentioned, constructive, path-opening, and in favor of the nation and the country. There is no end or result to polarization and fighting.

Embracing, talking, seeking solutions to the demands and problems of our nation with a common mind, and achieving this is the primary and essential duty of political parties. Of course, we will have no state or desire to say anything to this or object to it.

However, it is clear beyond any explanation that the traffic of contacts and meetings, which has settled at the top of the hot agenda, has turned into a smear campaign targeting the Nationalist Movement Party.

When the veil of mystery over the emerging developments, which we follow with attention, caution, and meticulousness, is lifted, the existence of other calculations and different expectations fueled from underneath is observed and considered.

It is constantly claimed on television screens, social media platforms, and newspaper pages that the Nationalist Movement Party looks askance at, approaches with suspicion, and even harms the environment of normalization and softening.

The spread of character assassination against the Nationalist-Idealist Movement through a murder case for which an indictment has been prepared, the constant polishing of some names accompanying this assassination, and furthermore, taking them from door to door and circulating them from screen to screen, is an attempt to poison the environment of internal peace and tranquility, beyond a search for rights and law.

The Nationalist Movement Party will definitely be present at the hearing of the aforementioned case to be held on July 1, 2024, and will settle scores with dark games and the extras of these games in the presence of the Turkish judiciary.

It is evident that domestic and foreign-origin interest groups, partners of destruction, circles opposed to political stability, and especially opponents of the People's Alliance are in continuous activity to cast suspicion on our party and to ensure the construction of a parting of the ways.

Our passion is Turkey, and our honor of belonging is the great Turkish nation. Whatever we do, whatever we say, it is for the benefit of Turkey and the Turkish nation.

In this context, if the Nationalist Movement Party is perceived and described as a barrier to the sustainability of the ordered atmosphere of normalization and softening,

And if a broad alliance has been formed on this issue, the responsibility that falls to us is to risk all kinds of sacrifices for the sake of our country and nation, and to do what is necessary with peace of mind.

Taking into account the constant muddying of the waters by the dissatisfied segment within the AK Party, the formation of a broad-based alliance between the AK Party and the CHP, and the support of other elements of the six-party table for this, is the sincere wish and desire of the Nationalist Movement Party. Despite this, our commitment to the People's Alliance will continue with determination, and our support for legislative proposals in the TBMM will continue as is.

Moreover, it is not possible for us to make concessions from the People's Alliance, to turn back, to leave it halfway, or to show a deviation from its principles and goals.

Everyone should know very well that we will stand by and behind our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, until the end, regardless of the conditions, and that we will definitely not leave him alone.

We respect the meetings held, the relationship networks established, and the bilateral contacts carried out by our President, and we act with self-sacrifice once again to further relieve his state, take initiative without expectation, and share this preference with our beloved nation."

STATEMENT FROM AKP SPOKESPERSON ÇELİK AFTER BAHÇELİ'S ALLIANCE REMARKS

Çelik noted the following in his post on his social media account:

"The People's Alliance, established to protect our country from the dangers it faces and to carry it strongly into the future, continues on its path with determination.

To reach the goals of the Century of Turkey, as the People's Alliance, we will continue to sign strong policies in terms of carrying our country into the future and serving our nation.

As our President and Chairman Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized, our will on this matter is complete."
