AKP's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality candidate Altınok's election promise is Ankapark
AKP's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok announced in a program he attended that he would reopen Ankapark if elected.
Altınok participated in a program on TV100 ahead of the local elections and announced what he would do if elected.
Responding to a question about where he would find the money to give to retirees, AKP's Ankara candidate Turgut Altınok stated that very little of the municipality's aid budget is currently being used and that he would cover these payments from that aid budget.
ANKAPARK PROMISE
It was notable that Ankapark was among Altınok's promises. Stating that he would reopen Ankapark, which Melih Gökçek left behind with damages exceeding 800 million dollars, if elected, Altınok claimed that the Yavaş administration had let the park rot. He also provided information that 6,000 trees in the park had dried up because they were not watered.
Altınok said the park had been idle for the 3 years during which there was a court process, and that they had applied to the municipality to operate the park during that time.

The AKP candidate said the following regarding his park promise:
I wish they hadn't let it rot; they could have given it to district municipalities or others. As Keçiören Municipality, we requested to operate it, but unfortunately, it was left to rot. The damage and loss are unfortunately very great...
6,000 trees dried up there because they weren't watered!
It was left to rot, and it was a waste of the money of the people of Ankara and our country.
All the documents were in his hands; I don't know if he did anything regarding it, but Ankapark was an asset.
We will open Ankapark; we will open our tropical greenhouse and a giant aquarium...
It has been left to rot for three years. Ultimately, it was a service that had been provided; it was a shame. We will reopen Ankapark.
MANSUR YAVAŞ ANNOUNCED THAT THE PARK WOULD REOPEN IN JANUARY
While Altınok's Ankapark promise includes tropical greenhouses and a giant aquarium, Mansur Yavaş announced in a statement in January that Ankapark would open in the spring, free of charge, with walking paths, picnic areas, bicycle paths, libraries, and green spaces, as decided by the people of Ankara through a survey.
ALTINOK MADE A STATEMENT REGARDING THE ELECTION RESULT
In response to a question from the program host, journalist Gürkan Hacır, about his prediction for the election result, Altınok replied, "There are no 60 percent margins as rumored here and there; we will win the election by a margin of 4 or 5 points."
