AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements following the MKYK meeting chaired by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. One of the topics on Çelik's agenda was the liquidation of certain investment funds and the allegations that have emerged during this process.
Stating that state institutions are working in a "determined and uncompromising" manner regarding the fund issue, Çelik emphasized that a distinction must be made between legitimate investors and those alleged to have committed irregularities. Çelik expressed that the discussions should not be carried to a point that would harm capital markets and the Turkish economy.

According to Çelik, the primary goal is "the revelation of the whole truth" and the punishment of those responsible.
MESSAGE ON LEGAL REGULATION
Stating that they attach importance to the fair, transparent, and effective execution of the liquidation process for certain investment funds whose liquidation was decided by the Capital Markets Board, Çelik announced that a legislative proposal aimed at providing legal security for payments has been accepted by the TBMM Plan and Budget Committee.
Çelik said the regulation aims to recover assets that were unlawfully removed from the assets of funds whose liquidation has been completed, to collect fund losses and damages from those responsible, and to determine the procedures and principles regarding the payment of the obtained values to fund shareholders.
The AKP spokesperson stated that in addition to the current proposal, work is also underway on a more comprehensive draft to resolve structural problems in the capital market, strengthen audit mechanisms, and increase the deterrent effect of sanctions and penalties.
Touching on different topics during the press conference, Çelik offered his condolences for the late Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Dündar Ziya Gültekin and condemned hate-filled posts on social media. Çelik also used the phrase "welcome to our home" for Kani Torun, who joined the AKP.
In his speech, Çelik evaluated the election of Iraqi Turkmen Front President Muhammed Seman Ağa as a state minister in the Iraqi government as a positive step; he also conveyed the government's approach regarding Gaza, the West Bank, the process for a Turkey without terrorism, and the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement.
