AKP's vote share in Istanbul revealed: It remains behind İmamoğlu

AKP İstanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir announced in his assessment of field studies conducted across Istanbul that his party's vote share in the city has reached the 44.5 percent level.

The figure shared by Özdemir remains below the 51.14 percent vote share received by Ekrem İmamoğlu in the last Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality election. Özdemir also evaluated his goals for the 2029 local elections based on this picture.

Speaking on a CNN Türk broadcast, Özdemir was asked about the impact of İmamoğlu having been in prison for over a year and new political developments on vote shares. Arguing that İmamoğlu did not provide the expected services to Istanbul even before he was imprisoned, Özdemir said, "Even when Mr. Ekrem was not in prison, Istanbul did not see the services expected by Istanbulites."

Özdemir also emphasized "service" regarding the mayors in Istanbul who left the CHP to join the AKP. He stated, "We would like to express that the fact that many mayors joined the AK Party during this process is actually due to the presence of a structure here that is most focused on serving."
