AKP statement on 'no rival for İmamoğlu' poll!
AKP Deputy Chairman and Trabzon MP Mustafa Şen has issued a statement regarding reports that 'no rival for İmamoğlu emerged in the AKP poll'.
As the local elections approach, there is great curiosity about which candidate the AKP will nominate in Istanbul.
While the names of Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, and former Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum are being mentioned in political circles, Odatv shared poll results in an article titled 'Odatv obtains AKP's IMM poll... No rival for İmamoğlu'.
The report stated that CHP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was leading by a wide margin.
DENIAL FROM AKP
A statement regarding the poll in question has come from the AKP. AKP Deputy Chairman for R&D and Education and Trabzon MP Mustafa Şen stated in a post on his social media account: "As the AK Party, we have not yet conducted any polls naming candidates for any mayoral position anywhere in Turkey. We present this to the public with the hope that people will not give credence to those conducting open operations and manipulations using the AK Party name, nor to garbage polls."
Biz, henüz AK PARTİ olarak Türkiye’nin hiç bir yerinde her hangi bir belediye başkanlığı için isim vererek anket yapmadık.
