AKP's number of deputies in parliament has decreased
Following the appointment of Member of Parliament Murat Kurum as the new Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the number of seats held by the AKP in Parliament has fallen to 264.
With the appointment of Murat Kurum to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, which was vacated by Mehmet Özhaseki, Kurum's parliamentary membership has ended. The total number of deputies has dropped to 593, and the number of seats held by the AKP in Parliament has decreased to 264.
Furthermore, in the coming days, the AKP will nominate a deputy to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to fill the Environment Commission membership vacated by Murat Kurum. Subsequently, a new commission chair will be elected.
