The news was announced by İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener.
Making a statement on the social media platform X, Akşener said, "I have learned with sadness of the passing of Emre Hocaoğlu, the dear son of our former Gaziantep Provincial Chair Oğuz Hocaoğlu. I pray for God's mercy upon the deceased and offer my condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace and his place be in heaven."
