Akşener's comments on the 'declaration' and 'Nebi Hatipoğlu': Was the IYI Party the source of the pain?
IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener spoke at her party's parliamentary group meeting. While introducing candidates for many provinces and districts, Akşener also addressed the declaration crisis in Parliament. Asking, "Was the IYI Party the source of the pain?" Akşener also leveled harsh criticisms at Nebi Hatipoğlu, who switched to the AKP.
IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener, spoke at her party's group meeting.
Akşener announced her party's candidates for some provinces and districts for the local elections.
Some of the candidates are as follows:
Antalya: Nesrin Ünal
Giresun: Harun Cici
Kırklareli: Ali Dermenci
Kocaeli: Gencay Yıldız Tekin
Kars: Metin Özat
Highlights from Akşener's speech:
Last week, we lost 9 more of our soldiers as martyrs to terrorism. May their souls rest in peace and their place be in heaven. Our condolences to the nation. This homeland is indivisible; those who attempt to divide it will face the consequences.
"A DECLARATION WAR BROKE OUT"
Let us not forget that if we can speak in this hall today, we owe it to the children of this homeland who shielded it with their chests. Today, we will suppress our pain for our martyrs and not give the enemy cause to laugh. We will not allow any breach in our unity and solidarity. We swear that we will pursue this cause until the end of time.
After every terrorist incident, I have called the relevant Ministries and the President. I have both called them and tried to understand what could be done regarding our 33 martyrs. I repeated the same for our 12 martyrs. This is not a new or unprecedented event. I am a former Minister of Interior. I am a person who put my signature on the line when everyone else was running away. I cannot claim to know everything as well as a soldier, but I am a person who tries to understand and knows their duty. I have adopted this stance and done what was necessary in every important incident. In a way I could not understand, I called the President, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of National Defense. Then I relayed this to my colleagues. My colleagues also took a stance. For this reason, we proposed that the Parliament should sign a joint declaration.
"WAS THE IYI PARTY THE SOURCE OF THE STOMACH ACHE?"
In a way I could not quite understand, a declaration war broke out. The PKK members must have laughed a lot. We must stand like a rock against those PKK scoundrels in front of the families of our martyrs. We handled the issue calmly, but the boundaries were crossed again and again. I called again; the Minister of National Defense still hasn't returned my call, but in contrast, the first to return it was Hakan Fidan, and Mr. Erdoğan returned it in the morning. I received information, and we were not expecting the DEM Party to sign the parliamentary declaration anyway, but a commotion broke out there as well; there was a meeting yesterday. At that meeting, the fragmented image was abandoned, preventing a situation where the PKK would be dancing with joy. Everyone supported the motion with the signature of Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş. The question is: Was the IYI Party the source of the stomach ache?
COMMENTS ON NEBİ HATİPOĞLU
'They are leaning toward the AKP...' If we had an affinity with the AKP, would it be possible for a deputy elected from our ranks to be taken by the AKP and become a candidate in Eskişehir? Especially in a political party where Akşener is the Chair. It is a blatant insult to me personally. Because this friend of ours came through a primary, complied with democracy, and we put him forward. I am talking about a system where people were deceived. I believe that Eskişehir will not elect a double-dealing person. This means we are not leaning toward anyone. The arguments of both sides are the same. You call the President of this country and the relevant ministers. I see each of these as immorality, and anyone who does not do what is necessary is a coward.
"SHAKE HANDS WITH DEM"
We will enter the race free and independent, open a 3rd way, and we will win.
Shake hands with DEM, and since you think our voters are already in your pocket, go ahead and take everywhere, let's see what the world is like.
"YOU CANNOT GOVERN BY COMPLAINING"
You are meeting with the regional administration in Iraq, so why don't you issue a firm and clear warning for them to take action on this matter? Similarly, why are you not using all your resources to eliminate the PKK presence in northeastern Syria? Why can you not take a clear stance regarding the policies of Russia on one side and the USA on the other that accept the presence of the PKK-PYD? You cannot manage the fight against terrorism by looking for culprits and complaining!
COMMENTARY ON THE JUDICIAL CRISIS
In an environment where the 3rd Chamber of the Court of Cassation openly disregards the Constitutional Court, if the government turns a blind eye to the violation of the Constitution, attempts to gain political advantage from illegitimacy, and fails to prevent the resulting constitutional state crisis, then it means it is failing to fulfill its responsibility to the nation from which it received its mandate."
MISSING CHILDREN IN THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE
Terrifying developments have occurred in the US, exposing a child abuser. It has emerged that, along with many other countries in the file, children from Turkey were also abducted following the August 17, 1999 earthquake and fell into the hands of this network.
After the earthquakes we experienced on February 6, the same question came to everyone's mind. Are there children of ours who went missing in these earthquakes? I raised this with the awareness that there are still missing children from the '99 earthquake whom their families have not been able to reach, but for whom there is no evidence of death.
Where is 6-year-old Talha Demirel, who lived in the Yeşilada Apartment in Kahramanmaraş? Where is Alya Kılınç, who lived in the Ebrar Site? Where are 3-year-old Mustafa Kemal Koşar and 1-year-old Mehmet Akif Koşar, who lived in the Antakya Rönesans Residence? Where is 9-year-old Muhammed Enes Demir, who lived in the Arzıklar Apartment in Adıyaman? Where are 7-year-old twin sisters Elif and Esma Yapar, and 17-year-old Şükran Yapar? There are claims that nearly a thousand children are missing in the earthquake zone; 142 missing child applications have been made to the Association for Solidarity with Earthquake Victims and Relatives of the Missing alone. If these children are not missing, why are their families unaware of this?"
