Ali Babacan reacts to Can Atalay ruling: He calls out 'reasonable' AKP members

DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan reacted to the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court's decision to send the ruling on rights violations issued by the Constitutional Court regarding TİP Hatay MP Can Atalay to the Court of Cassation's 3rd Criminal Chamber.

The statement made by Babacan on his social media account is as follows:

"Those who do not recognize the Constitution, which is the founding document of this country and the basis for every action taken, are committing a major legal coup. Whether you agree with the Constitutional Court's decision or not. Whether you like Can Atalay or not. It does not matter. As a requirement of the Republic of Turkey's claim to be a state of law, the implementation of this decision is mandatory. I am calling out to the reasonable people in the cabinet and the AK Party from here: They are leading you into dark corridors from which there is no return. Speak up, today is the day. Do not remain silent, stand up for justice. I am calling out to Mr. Erdoğan: The non-implementation of Constitutional Court decisions has become a survival issue for this country. Stop those who are leading the country down this dark path by relying on you and using the power they derive from you. I am calling out with the words of Constitutional Court President Zühtü Arslan: 'There can be no remote-controlled judiciary or judge!' Do you want our democracy, which has exceeded 100 years, to return completely to primitive ages?

Do you want justice and rights to be dragged through the mud? What do you want? I am calling out: You will be ashamed. You cannot continue this course. Immediately fulfill the minimum requirement of the Constitution and implement the Constitutional Court's decision!"
